Take Time to Look Around You
15 years ago, walking in the jungle near Angkor Wat, Cambodia, I turned my head and saw this boy. Just relaxing from the heat of the day in a swing he’d made of vines, face protected from the sun with a traditional scarf. We gazed at each other and he let me take a photo. He was absolutely silent and I never would have seen him if I hadn’t been taking my time and open to everything around me.
I try to keep this in mind every day. Try not to get caught up in the rush and focus of our modern life. Take time to look around. You never know what wonderful surprise might catch your eye✨
