Musings on the Magic of Meeting People Abroad
It could be that the best part of traveling is the connections you make with people.
When you are in adventure mode, your inhibitions and tongue are loosened, your walls are down. And when that happens, amazing connections are made; often with people you might never normally talk to. And you start to realize that you can find something in common with pretty much anyone! And you forge stronger connections with people that will be lifelong, because the time and place are so unique.
I challenge myself to hold that mindset while at home too, but it can be difficult. People get into ruts, outlooks narrow in the face of routine and “normalcy.” People might not seem as special as they do abroad.
But I hope to never lose my genuine love for making new friends, and forging unique strong bonds, no matter where I may find them ❤️
